POLYMER LOOP

Tyrma takes part of the group POLYMER LOOP, with headquarters in A Coruña and some sites in Spain and France

Tyrma starts operating in Galicia in 2006. Since then, a total investment of 11 Million Euro addressed to our equipment has been done. Our recycling capacity: 20 000 Tn/year (from post-consumer film as input material) to produce 10 000 Tn of granules and a total of 50 direct job positions. We count on 4 200 m² of industrial facilities and the sufficient capacity for future production increases, in a total of 34 000 m² of surface. Our industrial facilities count on all the needed services (water and electricity supply) for future expansions.

GET A 100% OF EFFICIENCY IN THE RECYCLING PROCEEDING

Here is a summary of the target of the package of measures for the Circular Economy that the European Commission stablished for 2025:

• Recycle 60% of the total of the plastic packaging
• The estimated current capacity is 22%

To meet these targets, it is necessary to develop a strong recycling industry for post-industrial and post-consumer film packaging, with new investments in plastic film recycling capacity across Europe and the promotion of new end uses for the granules of recycled LDPE.
TYRMA seeks process efficiency to achieve these targets, with the goal of reaching 100% recycling of the post-industrial, post-consumer and agricultural plastic film received and the goal of 0 landfill.
All this with constant improvement in processes to obtain a quality product with lower environmental impact and energy cost.
